Daniel 5 is about God's encounter with two kings. God dealt graciously with them to bring them to their knees. They took great pride in their power & position without acknowledging that their lives were in fact in the hands of the Sovereign God. Similar to these two kings, we too live our lives taking pride in the blessings we have in our lives. We treasured the gifts and ignore the Giver. We neither give thanks nor glorify God.
