The Parable of the Two Pots
Sunday Apr 15, 2012
Sunday Apr 15, 2012
In Jeremiah 18 God is the potter and nations are the clay. God is a sovereign potter moulding as seems best to him but he takes into account men's response whether repentance or rejection of God's desire for righteousness. This principle is then applied to our personal walk with the Lord showing ways in which we may be unwittingly resisting God's will and purpose for our life. The sermon ends with personal sharing of the Lord healing of the preacher's (Pastor John Ting) deep inferiority complex and low self-esteem.

Jesus' Very Ordinary Birth
Sunday Dec 04, 2011
Sunday Dec 04, 2011
The traditional account has Jesus born in a stable because that is where mangers are to be found. However in many middle eastern homes today and in Jesus' day, mangers are found in the living room of homes. A proper reading of Luke 2.1-7 tells us Jesus was born in an ordinary peasant village home - a common-place ordinary birth just like any other Palestinian peasant birth. This is the marvel of the incarnation for which we magnify and worship him all the more. Pastor John Ting preaches.

The entry of Jesus Christ, God incarnate, into history means that 'in these last days God has spoken to us by his Son' (Hebrews 1.2) In doing so Jesus not only revealed God's truth but also authenticated Scripture as God's revealed truth. So there is objective truth in our world, God's world. There is objective right and wrong. This has implications for all areas of life including divorce and homosexuality.
